Microneedling Treatment

rejuvenate with Collagen Induction Therapy

Considered one of the most revolutionary beauty treatments on the market today, KNTR's professional microneedling, or "collagen induction therapy" (CIT), is an effective way to rejuvenate skin. By using a fine needle pen to introduce controlled micro injuries, our nurse practitioners are able to penetrate deep below the skin's surface, bringing with it enhanced collagen production and a greater overall appearance of youthfulness and smoothness.

This procedure is renowned for its anti-aging capabilities as well improving healing of acne scars and hyperpigmentation. At KNTR, we make it our mission to ensure we offer quality treatments in a safe, environment leaving you feeling nourished and refreshed.

  • What can microneedling treat?

    • Fine lines and wrinkles
    • Improvement in skin tone and texture
    • Minimize stretch marks
    • Sagging skin
    • Hyper/Hypo-pigmentation
    • Sun damaged skin

    • Smooths and improves the appearance of scars (surgical, burns, acne vulgaris depressions)
    • Alopecia (hair loss)

  • How is it performed?

At Kontour Medical Aesthetics, our medical practitioner uses an automated medical precision tool that uses a stamp-like motion to perforate the skin to activate the body’s repairing mechanism. CIT is an ideal choice for non-surgical and non-ablative treatment of various skin conditions.  It offers the safest method of CIT because it leaves the epidermis (outer layers of your skin) completely intact and undamaged. With the use of a numbing agent during the treatment, CIT is a painless skin rejuvenation procedure with minimal downtime or side-effects.

  • Who is a good candidate?

A microneedling facial  can be used on all skin types and colors to address a wide range of problems such as acne scars, stretch marks, dark spots, fine lines and wrinkles. This allows for more versatility than lasers, chemical peels, or other common ablative skin treatments which are sensitive to darker skin types.

  • Are there any risks associated with this treatment?

Collagen facial treatments is a very safe technique to tackle many skin concerns. As with many medical treatments, the main risk is infection of the skin.  Our medical practitioners practice clean and sterile aseptic technique with all treatments to avoid the risk of infection.

pre & post care

At KNTR, we understand that the safety and satisfaction of our clients is of utmost importance. Before undergoing a microneedling treatment, there are some pre and post-treatment recommendations that should be followed and things you should know. Come visit us at KNTR and experience first hand why our microneedling treatment is leading the industry in creating beautiful skin.

  • Pre-Treatment Care

    • Cleanse the treatment area with an antibacterial cleanser prior to microneedling.
    • Avoid waxing, plucking, threading and bleaching for 6 weeks prior to treatment.
    • Refrain from using any topical creams or retinoids on the areas you plan to treat 5-7 days before your session.
    • Avoid sun exposure and tanning beds for at least two weeks prior to your micro-needling treatment.
    • Do not take aspirin, anti-inflammatory drugs, or any blood thinners 5 days before the procedure as these can increase bleeding and bruising after the treatment.
  • Post-Treatment Care

    • Significant healing takes place within the first 2 hours post treatment and most clients heal completely within 24-48 hours.
    • However, for those with sensitive skin may require up to 48-72 hours for their skin to fully heal.
    •  The total healing time depends on the severity of the damaged skin, the depth of repair process required.
    • Slight swelling, heat, and redness is to be expected (like a mild sunburn) which can last up to 2-3 days.
    • Avoid direct sun exposure for 2-3 weeks and throughout the course of your recommended treatment process.
    • Use a sunscreen SPF 25 or higher at all times when going out in the sunlight.
