Wrinkle Injections

Injections for a natural look

As we age over time, our skin naturally thins and loses volume as collagen, hyaluronic acid, and elastin gradually diminish. This process leads to wrinkling, a prominent feature of aging. Injections of a medication in to the muscles that create the wrinkles can assist in decreasing the formation of wrinkles and reverse the signs of aging. This will provide softening of fine lines and wrinkles for a natural, refreshed, and youthful appearance.

At Kontour Medical Aesthetics, our Wrinkle Injections & Botox treatments are designed to help you feel renewed and refreshed. Our highly trained medical practitioners use advanced techniques to help reduce the appearance of wrinkles for a smoother, more refreshed complexion. If you're looking for a way to bring back that confidence you used to have, we invite you to come in for a facial service today.

FAQs

Are you considering Botox and fillers but are not sure where to begin? At KNTR, we want everyone that comes through our door to feel comfortable about their decision so let's start by tackling those FAQs!

  • What are wrinkle injections made of?

This medication consists of a purified protein derived from Clostridium botulinum bacterium. It is FDA approved to temporarily reduce muscle contractions and smooths wrinkles in many areas of the face for cosmetic enhancements. It can also be used medically to alleviate migraines, bruxism, and excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis).

  • How does it work?

Wrinkle injections work by temporarily paralyzing the muscles that cause wrinkles and expression lines. Small doses of a purified protein are injected directly into the target area, which helps relax and soften those muscles so they can no longer create deep creases in the skin. With our safe and effective treatments, you can enjoy a more youthful complexion without having to worry about an unnatural look.

  • How is it injected?

One of our medical practitioners will take appropriate quantities of the medication and inject the appropriate number of units to the targeted muscle.  A fine needle is used to inject, which is safe, effective, and can be given within a short treatment time.  Receiving this treatment has minimal to no pain (during and after the treatment).

  • How long will it take to see results?

Neuromodulator treatments typically provide results lasting around 3-4 months. If you're looking to slim down your jawline, then the right dose of treatment can keep it looking great for up to 6 months! So, why not give yourself a boost with neuromodulation and enjoy a more youthful look!

  • Who is not a good candidate for this treatment?

    Those who are/have:

    • Under the age of 18
    • Pregnant women and nursing mothers
    • Bleeding abnormalities (Anticoagulant use)
    • Neuromuscular disorders including: ALS, Bell’s Palsy, Myasthenia Gravis, Lambert-Eaton syndrome, Myopathies

Another Treatment Option:

Dermal Fillers

As we age, our skin is susceptible to wrinkling and sagging. Our skin gradually thins and loses elasticity through the diminishment of dermal collagen, hyaluronic acid (HA), and elastin. This aging process is accelerated by sun damage and other extrinsic factors such as smoking which contribute to tissue breakdown of the skin. his becomes evident with facial volume loss and laxity. As facial contours change with age, treatment with dermal fillers is beneficial for facial sculpting and contouring.
